Arches National Park Guide
Arches has the densest concentration of natural stone arches on Earth — over 2,000 of them, from tiny windows to soaring spans — and one of them, Delicate Arch, is so iconic it’s on Utah’s license plate. Getting to Delicate Arch means a 1.5-mile climb up slickrock with no shade, but the payoff is the freestanding 60-foot arch framing the La Sal Mountains, and at sunset it glows like a hot coal. Elsewhere in the park, Landscape Arch stretches the length of a football field on a span that looks impossibly thin, and Balanced Rock defies gravity right by the road.
