The Mighty 5 National Park Loop (statewide) Drive Guide
No other state lets you connect five national parks in one drivable loop, and Utah’s Mighty 5 sit close enough that a determined week does all of them: Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches, roughly 1,000 miles round-trip out of a base in southern Utah. This is the trip most visitors don’t realize is possible — they fly in, do Zion, and leave, never knowing the other four are a day’s driving apart. Done right, the loop is a greatest-hits reel of the entire Colorado Plateau, and Byway 12 (see 81) is the connective tissue between the western and eastern halves.
